Television Series: Modern Family

The Tv Series i will be talking about is Modern Family This mockumentary explores the many different types of a modern family through the stories of a gay couple, comprised of Mitchell and Cameron, and their daughter Lily, a straight couple, comprised of Phil and Claire, and their three kids, Haley, Alex, and Luke, and a multicultural couple, which is comprised of Jay and Gloria, and their son Manny. These three types of families are being taped by a Dutch documentary crew who are using them for an upcoming reality-based television series due to air in The Netherlands.
Created By Screenwriters Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan, The Pilot for Modern Family was aired September 23rd and watched live by 12.61 million viewers, placing it as the most viewed show of the night and the series.
The Comedy based Series was highly regarded in its pilot and has since been renewed for 10 seasons, featuring a several basic everyday plots intertwining the members of the family in everyday life normally told in a traditional linear narrative fashion normally featuring a closed ending per episode.

The purpose of each character in the story is to represent different ethnicities, cultures and sexualities of those in a “modern family”.
The themes of Modern Family are mainly that of social acceptance and coming together/unity.
One thing that makes Modern a Family Unique as a show is its mockumentary setting and filming.

Its imperfect camera zooms and slightly shaky camerawork add humour to silent situations or can immerse the viewer in the fact that these hilarious and outrageous moments are taking the place in the households of these regular people.

Feature Film: The feature Film i’ll be discussing is Edgar Wright's 2010 film Scott Pilgrim Vs the World based off of Bryan Lee o'Malley’s Scott Pilgrim Series of Graphic Novels.

Genre of Movie-The Genre of Scott pilgrim Vs The World is  an Action, Romance and Comedy based Film with Fantasy based ideas synonymous with knight and princess storylines which are clearly connoted with the storyline (protagonist fighting off love interests threats) further playing into a tale of redemption for how Scott has treated those around him (using the power of self respect in the conclusion of the film) granted to him after he gets a life figuratively and literally (by receiving a one up) enabling to try again after being defeated by Gideon.

The film is synonymous with modern media based culture with video game and anime influences prevalent from the very first scene (which opens with The Legend Of Zelda's OST and displays opening credits in an arcade font) and has been branded the modern film of the internet as it utilizes genres and common themes associated with “awkward internet culture” craftingly and lovingly, in Edgar Wrights Own Words “I think all of us at some point have been through the same ups and downs of love that Scott, Ramona and Knives experience and that by showing these quirks similar and completely different in a realistic light can we identify a film not only by its writing, but by its acting too.”
